Hackathon on FAIR climate model data

NICEST2 is arranging a hackathon, March 11, 16 and 17, 2021 (13:00 - 17:00 CET), on how to make climate data FAIR. The focus is on climate model output, and how to work with the CF conventions, CMOR etc. Further information is available at https://nordicesmhub.github.io/nicest2-fair-hackathon/.

A new version of the Climate and Forecast conventions is released

The Climate and Forecast (CF) Conventions community has released the CF 1.8 conformance document. There are a number of major improvements in that document which now also support geometries (similar to Shape and KML) as point, line, polygon and multiples of these. The most recent version of the document is available at http://cfconventions.org/latest.html.

Third Polar Data Forum

The Third Polar Data Forum is arranged in Helsinki November 18-22 2019. During this meeting there will be a number of training sessions as well. Further information is available at https://polar-data-forum.org/. Deadline for abstract submissions is August 16th September 6th.
